At Art of Manliness, we believe every man should be strong. Mark Rippetoe has been helping men (and women) get stronger with barbell training for over 30 years. His book, Starting Strength, has become the bible of strength training for hundreds of thousands of individuals. I’ve been following Mark’s program for only a few weeks now, and have already gotten significantly stronger by concentrating on just a few basic lifts.
Last month, I made a four-hour drive down I-44 with Jordan Crowder to visit Mark at his gym in Wichita Falls, TX to talk barbell training. In this video Rip discusses why he thinks barbell training should be a part of every man’s strength training program and the benefits that come with barbell training. In the coming weeks, we’ll be posting a series of highly detailed instructional videos taught by Mark Rippetoe himself on how to perform the basic barbell lifts. I’m really excited about this series.
