I’m a big fan of GoRuck Challenges. I’ve done a few of them over the years as a way to shake off the barnacles — to reacquaint myself with physical pain and remind myself that I’m stronger than I think I am.
The folks at GoRuck have created a new event that I’m super excited to take part in. I’d love for you all to join me here in Tulsa for it. It’s called GoRuck Constellation and it’s a chance to harness your inner Jason Bourne.
GoRuck Constellation Tulsa: The Details
When: From 9PM Friday, May 26, 2017 until 9AM on Saturday morning
Where: Tulsa, OK. The exact start point is TBD.
What: GoRuck Constellation is a scenario-based event in which you will learn urban survival skills and the techniques of escape and evasion from former U.S. military special operators. You and a small cell of teammates will move through a series of tasks and checkpoints, as you learn how to prepare and plan for chaos, navigate your city on the move, and sharpen your mind into your foremost weapon. After you receive instruction, you will be required to put that newfound knowledge to the test in a scenario-based game.
You’ll need to carry a rucksack/backpack with some weight, but unlike the GoRuck Challenges, there’s no carrying heavy logs or doing lots of push-ups at a GoRuck Constellation. The emphasis is on skill acquisition. You still have to stay up all night though, and walk and be active with a pack on for 10-12 hours, so you’ll still need some stamina.
Like I said, I’ll be taking part in GoRuck Constellation this May 26. If you’re in the Oklahoma area, I’d love for you to join me. You can sign-up here.
GoRuck Constellation Giveaway
The folks at GoRuck were kind enough to give me some gift cards that will grant nine AoM readers completely free access to any Constellation event (a $150-$170 value) on the schedule. So we’re going to give them away!
To enter, just use the form below. Deadline is May 15, 2017. I’ll let the winners know they won that day so they can start getting ready for their GoRuck Constellation experience.
