About two years ago, Wolverine released a new line of boots called the 1000 Mile Collection (we gave a pair away back in 2009). Based on designs from the Wolverine archives, the Wolverine 1,000 Mile Boot is made by hand in a 300 step process all right here in the USA. The quality and craftsmanship that goes into each pair is amazing. I own a pair and these bad boys have only gotten handsomer with use.

A bit pricey for this working class hero, shame tho looks real nice.
I wish they made the 1000 mile boot with a rubber sole option for better grip on slippery surfaces and so you don’t feel the cold floor. However I usually have my leather soled shoes completely heeled in rubber. Just ask a local cobbler, it is usually not very expensive. What you don’t have a cobbler? Pssst.
Never get cheap with your belly or your feet. When it comes to food or shoes, spend the money. Good food and good shoes are fundamental.
