Next time you roughhouse with your kids, try using a Daddy Saddle. Made by Kenner back in the 60s, the Daddy Saddle made playing horsey a bit more realistic. There’s actually a company today that makes something similar called the Daddle, though it pales in comparison to the old-school Daddy Saddle.

I really love those vintage ads.
My girlfriend and I have one.
I cannot say the words “Daddy Saddle” without feeling creepy
Great vintage ad! Reminds me of the evenings on the floor with the boys, Lincoln Logs and Legos!
Anthony wanted me to ask if you can get a matching bridle or harness…as a set.
Anthony: Took the words right out of my mouth.
Brent: That is kinky bro. Good for you guys!
…I like how it costs $4.98, I can only imagine it would cost that much to make nowadays and then be sold for fifty bucks.
Man that brings back a lot of great memories of putting a leather belt around my dads chest, and “getting ready in the chute” while my dad “pawed” at the dirt like a bull…we got on his back, and would take our hand and make sure we had that underhand ‘cowboy’ grip jussssst right, then my brother would swing open the cardboard gate and my dad would start bucking around and spinning and spinning, running then trying to stop real fast to send us over his head…right into a pool of pillows we’d gathered from all corners of the house….we’d all collapse in exhausted howls and giggles after each ride, and then do it all again….awesome!
love how the boy gets to ride dad and all the girl gets is to ride it installed on the cardboard box.
I’m 19 years old and I remember having one… it was wool underneath
