The winner of last week’s giveaway was Sam. Sam hasn’t gotten back to me yet about where he’s from, but he won one of those handsome, oft-requested Throne watches.

My Picks This Week

Huckberry_500_6-27-13

An extra wide variety of items this week — there’s something for everyone! The line-up includes an Esbit alcohol burner for outdoor cooking, along with Esbit’s sturdy vacuum flasks. Then there’s the walnut and birch Micklish Butler — a sort of wall-mounted nightstand that’s always a popular pick when it comes around. My favorite thing this week are the pillows from Izola that feature great sayings and are stuffed with balsam wood needles to make your living room smell like a forest. I’m picking up both for a new couch we just got. Izola makes a couple of spiffy sets of handkerchiefs too.

And there’s much, much more — happy browsing!

The Stuff-it Backpack would be fantastic. I carry lots of stuff into work, and I constantly have to cram it into my pockets. But my stuff isn’t meant to be crammed, its meant to be stuffed.

761 Matt T July 1, 2013 at 1:03 pm

I’ll go for the Hide and Seek wallet (cocoa) by Bellroy. Looks awesome. Thanks.

762 Andrew H July 1, 2013 at 1:07 pm

DUFFALUFFAGUS in Navy would be an awesome addition to my current, worn out travel equipment.

763 Elliot Ensor July 1, 2013 at 1:07 pm

A true manly essential, in my humble opinion, is a quality headlamp. Everyone should have one, and mine just broke after 2 years of steady use. That being the case, I am tossing my hat in for the PEZEL TIKKA XP2 HEADLAMP (ORANGE). Woot Woot!

764 Daniel N July 1, 2013 at 1:09 pm

The Money Maker Speed Clutch. Great for outdoor photos.

765 John July 1, 2013 at 1:10 pm

I love the Stuff It pack from Sitka. Still looking for a good pack for my Get Home bag.

775 Dave July 1, 2013 at 2:05 pm

Was going to say the Timex Weekender (Night) but the website shows it “sold out.” So, I will instead say The Ruck Strap is my choice. The ability to keep credit cards, ID/passport, cash, spare memory cards and other essentials and valuables VERY close to one’s body while using a camera would give me great piece of mind while I might be focused (pardon the pun) on getting the best picture. This item would be particularly useful when shooting in high-crime/pickpocket areas.

776 Tony July 1, 2013 at 2:06 pm

The Duffaluffagus (Navy) would be great.

777 Shane Macy July 1, 2013 at 2:14 pm

Mooring ships on the lower Mississippi river can make one quite parched. A life straw would be a great way to stay hydrated.
