The Weekly Huckberry Giveaway: October 19, 2012

in Giveaway

The winner of the last giveaway (2 weeks ago) was:

Jonathan Griffiths from Nampa, ID. Jonathan selected the Sound Platform Ghost.

Also, since I don’t have anywhere else to announce the winner that we randomly drew from the entries to last week’s iPad 2/Saddleback iPad Case giveaway that we ran to celebrate our new mobile site, here’s who went home with that sweet prize too:

Collin Driscoll from New Orleans, LA. Collin said he’d be reading AoM on his new iPad while at “the Barber’s; a great old shop here in New Orleans run by a man that enlisted in the Navy in WWII and retired from the Army after Korea and he’s still going strong. I would also use it when I am relaxing at my local Gentlemen’s club; no not a strip club but a proper Gentlemen’s club with large leather furniture, wall to wall wood, old books, cigars and whiskey. Many articles of AoM parallel what is going on in those places already , but it never hurts to have more topics for further discussion.”

Congrats guys! Enjoy your new tech.

My Picks This Week

Huckberry’s got a monster offering this week — I couldn’t even fit all the cool stuff in one image this week. There are Baffin boots perfect for the coming cold and slushy weather. From Wenger, there are tents, sleeping bags, and Swiss Army knives (which includes a $1k “Giant knife” with 87, yes 87, different implements, which isn’t at all practical, but is fun to look, whistle, and chuckle at). There are some really nice prints of mountains and trails, that would be perfect for the man who’s scaled or hiked them, or one day dreams to. I also love the Stormy Kromer hats, even if they’re not quite as cool as my Woodsman’s hat. But to me the crown jewel this week is Stormy Kromer’s wool, Made in USA, Mackinaw coat. Makes me want to get out and chop down a Christmas tree.

Sound Platform Ghost

1209 Ryan Casey October 25, 2012 at 8:02 am

The Freeman Grey Rain Jacket would be a great piece to add to any gentleman’s wardrobe. The fact that they are handmade in Seattle is almost as appealing as the stylish coat.

1210 Kevan October 25, 2012 at 8:51 am

Loving the Tsovet QS40 watch!

1211 Kevin October 25, 2012 at 9:07 am

The Kelly Kettle is bad ass!

1212 Chris October 25, 2012 at 9:13 am

I’m thinking that the other guys in deer camp would be pretty jealous when I show up with a new large Kelly Kettle!

1213 Stephen Cox October 25, 2012 at 9:15 am

SVT-QS40

1214 Josh Cantrell October 25, 2012 at 9:37 am

The Kelly Kettle Kit looks pretty amazing! I would love to take a trip in the woods this fall with that kit, cook up some camp chili, and wash it down with a freshly brewed cup of tea.

1215 Tyler C. Winton October 25, 2012 at 9:45 am

I would love to have anyone of the Badger hair brushes, any color would be great! Working on getting my straight razor kit!

1216 Dan Isaacs October 25, 2012 at 9:49 am

So many awesome things, but if there one I both covet and utilize, it would the Range boot by Baffin.

That giant Swiss army knife would be one heck of a conversation piece.

1219 Adam B October 25, 2012 at 10:15 am

I’d really love to get my hands on the blue Shave Brush. The cheapo one I bought is just not cutting it.

1220 Andy October 25, 2012 at 10:45 am

The SVT-AX87 instantly caught my eye.

Freeman’s Black Rain Jacket. Thanks!

1224 Alan Nguyen October 25, 2012 at 11:02 am

A white/black Tsovet SVT-FW44. The face seems rather large, but what better way to experiment with a larger watch than free!

1225 Joshua Z. October 25, 2012 at 11:08 am

Would love the Jura 3 from Wenger. Want to get out and go camping more with my GSD.

1226 Ryan Miller October 25, 2012 at 11:32 am

Sunpocket tonga tortoise folding glasses. Gotta get my Steve McQueen on….. well sort of. Thanks for the great website.

1227 David October 25, 2012 at 11:38 am

The Lawson Black Buckle Unlimited is a handsome thing.

1228 Martin October 25, 2012 at 11:40 am

Really like that Stormy Kromer’s wool coat!

1229 Matt C October 25, 2012 at 11:54 am

I think the SVT-FW44 could finally get me to wear a watch again. As all of my watch batteries have died, I’ve found myself not bothering to replace them, since I carry a cell anyways.

1230 David Li October 25, 2012 at 12:10 pm

GIANT KNIFE by Wenger!

1231 michael shipma October 25, 2012 at 12:22 pm

1246 jacob October 25, 2012 at 2:52 pm

I would love to win the Duffaluffagus (Black) bag by Poler. It would be great to strap to the back of my triumph for the camping trips I am often taking. The zipper just broke on my current duffle, so what better time than now to win a new one!

1247 paul October 25, 2012 at 2:59 pm

J. L. Lawson & Co. – OG II

1248 Andres Sanchez October 25, 2012 at 3:09 pm

Marksman by Baffin 9.5 (please and thank you)

1249 Harry Allen October 25, 2012 at 3:21 pm

The Marksman Boot from Baffin would be perfect for some winter camping! My wife has never been camping and we’ve run out of summer. She isn’t opposed to camping in the cold (she is from Chicago). We’ve got the tent and the mummy bags for warmth. I just don’t have any decent rugged boots built for winter camping.

1250 Colin C October 25, 2012 at 3:21 pm

The SVT-AT76 looks awesome!

1251 Doug October 25, 2012 at 3:23 pm

The Duffaluffagus (black)…of course!

1252 Beans October 25, 2012 at 3:38 pm

Wenger knife. Thanks.

1253 Nathan Gray October 25, 2012 at 3:43 pm

Whether hunting, camping or fishing, when it comes to long days (and nights) in the great outdoors, a man’s only as good as his boots. And a new pair of Baffin Marksmans are just what I’ve been needing!!

1254 Victor October 25, 2012 at 3:54 pm

Since winter has already come in Sweden (snow today), slush is inbound. I’m in need of a sturdy pair of rugged boots worthy of the challenge, and I think the Range (Brown) would live up to the challenge!

1255 Joel October 25, 2012 at 10:21 pm

Mackinaw coat!!! That coat is freaking sweet!!!

1256 Ken F. October 25, 2012 at 11:02 pm

Wabi Nabi please!

1257 Cameron October 26, 2012 at 12:07 am

That TSOVET SVT-NM85 is a nice looking time piece. I’ve been meaning to get a good looking watch and that one is definitely a looker.

1258 JohnJ October 26, 2012 at 1:07 am

SVT-AX87
What a fine looking watch. Maybe time wouldn’t seem to be flying by if I was looking at that clock.

1259 Joel H October 26, 2012 at 2:25 am

I could use a new sleeping bag. The Rigi Regular looks like it would be an awesome bag!

1260 Mark Elm October 26, 2012 at 6:26 am

The Straight Leg…….(size 34)……..what a great pair of jeans, tough, indigo, decent reinforced pockets, reinforced with Ankara denim topped off by Oregon made tanned leather patch……you’ve convinced me!

1261 DCK October 26, 2012 at 10:17 am

1265 Matthew B October 26, 2012 at 8:29 pm

That Tsovet SVT-AX87 is probably one of the sharpest watches I’ve ever seen. I’d love too add a nice watch to the wardrobe.

1266 Jason October 28, 2012 at 5:14 pm
