I will read Art of Manliness in the Sierra-Nevada back country, on a remote mountain crest where I am able to get cell signal for my mobile-hotspot enabled smartphone, through which my rugged iPad 2 will access the internet.

I’ll be reading this as I’m carpooling my way up to the contnental divide to go skiing and rock climbing.

I would read it to relax and be edified in those precious moments of solitude, and, if the occasion allows, with a nice pipe in hand.

I’ll definitely be reading it every, evening after dinner, in bed, with my girl at my side, a dram of fine scotch in one hand, and my dog at my feet.

I’ll read it every morning on my trip to get coffee. Looks extremely manly, which will only enhance my chances of a lady noticing my “manliness.”

I will read AOM in my down time at work.

I will have my son read it out loud in the passenger seat of the car on the way to the trail head. And there it shall remain, waiting to share its manliness once again after me and my boy return from our multi-day sojourn into tree-kicking, stream-hopping, faith-sharing, and beef eating. All of which was of course blissfully technology free!

I would use this in the Phillipines and India when I go there for my mission trips.

I will be reading The Art of Manliness while on the bus while on the way to do one of the greatest things a man can do: Visit his mother!

On campus between classes, as I am an undergrad student studying Chemical Engineering.

I’ll be sitting in the pecan orchard outside my home basking in the autumn sun while enjoying the wonderful leather smell protecting technology.

At my campsite, next to a fire, while smoking my pipe and drinking bourbon.

I will be reading these entries in all the places I go, as a fellow blogger who recieves inspiration for the club I formed. And I will be using these entries to form my life as a man and to help other men become gentlemen.

With an iPad and manly Saddleback case I could read AoM anywhere there’s WiFi.

in the shade with a hammock set up high in a tree, winding down from a hard day’s labor.

It’s 6:31 pm on the dot. The sun is softly cresting the pacific, going down for the night – a night I know is gonna be damn longer than I care to admit. I stare out and wonder if I’ll see the green ray that flashes just as the sun sets – but I can tell I’ve already missed it.

I glance down at my trusty iPad2 in its beautiful Saddleback Leather case. The two seem to be meant for one another. Kinda like Jillian and me – till she blew her top and left me high and dry in the mojave, but that’s another story. On the screen I see the iconic image of ‘HOLD FAST’ tattooed to a sailor’s knuckles, and I know that I’ve truly forgotten the man I always wanted to be.

But now’s not the time for regret. Not the time for idle musings. I can see him coming. I’ve never met the bastard before but I can tell from the poorly concealed bulge under his blazer. This guy’s never been to a tailor in his life – much less to one that would fit a jacket for a piece.

I dive for the pavement, rolling out of his line of fire. Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang. Almost empty. I draw my trusty handmade slingshot, grab a pebble from the ground and let her rip. A clean hit to his wrist knocks the gun to the floor and before he can reach for it, I’m at his throat.

Now I’m no fighter, but a couple hours a day on the heavy bag have given me the kinds of jabs & crosses that can make mince meat out of another man’s jaw.

In an instant his face is bloodied, his nose shattered; he looks to the ground and spits teeth. Not used to blood, I recoil at the sight. Damn idiot. It gives him just enough time to grab his piece and get a clean shot to my gut. He only had one bullet, and he made it count.

I wait for the life to fade from my eyes, but start to wonder why I’m not hurting more. It – it doesn’t hurt a bit.

The iPad2 was resting in my jacket’s oversized inner pocket. I slowly stand straight. I pull my trusty iPad from my jacket and see the bullet lodged in the saddleback case. It didn’t even make it through the leather.

The bastard in the suit pulls the trigger again and again. He should’ve learned to count.

I could’ve put him out of his misery then and there, but I knew better. Cause without The Art of Manliness… that slob’s a lost cause anyway.

I will read AoM on my airplane!

I would read AoM on the iPad while going on grad school visits.

I plan on reading this fantastic treasure trove of manliness, while deep sea fishing for Marlin off the gulf coast, while sipping a single malt whiskey (neat) and reveling in my accomplishments I have been enabled to overcome with the help of The Art of Manliness.

I’ll be reading Art of Manliness while adventuring around the world. The new design looks amazing.

I would read it on my breaks at work and when I travel.

I would read AoM from the seat of my Jeep after a fast training run on my favorite trails.

As an avid reader that has been dying to get an iPad I’d be delighted with this prize. If I’m so lucky to win I’m sure I would have it with me everywhere. That being said I’d likely read AoM everywhere as well. Great site. I’m glad I found it!

I would use this while wearing a cheap windbreaker whose hood keeps falling off, sitting on a wooden bench missing a slat, on the wet blustery steel deck of a ferry crossing from Vancouver Island to the mainland.

I’d be reading it while bouncing through the airports for work. Been needing an iPad for quite a while now; today may be my day!

I would read AoM in-between my studying on campus. in-between my nervous breakdowns and my glorious triumphs!

I’ll read it on campus between classes, and at home between homebrews.

If I were fortunate enough to win, I would read my two year old son and my nephew’s stories about being a man. Responsible men are becoming increasingly difficult to find, and I believe that it is the responsibility of us men left to educate those that we can on what is the very essence of manliness.
