My Picks This Week
Huckberry’s got a very eclectic assortment of items this week. I’m digging the Pendleton towels, yes, towels. I’ve always wanted a famous Pendleton blanket, but have never been able to pull the trigger on one, so maybe the towel will be a stepping stone for me. Certainly a good way to man up your bathroom with a bit of classic Southwestern flair. There are also some nice candles from the family-owned Sydney and Hale Candle Co. with very non-dainty sounding scents like Vanilla + Cedar and Tobacco + Sandalwood. Once the candles burn down, the glass can be used as a whisky glass. If you’re going to give a man a candle as a gift, this would be the way to go. And if towels and candles are all too domestic for you, check out the line-up of Esbit’s outdoor cooking stoves. Well, maybe cooking is a little domestic too, isn’t it? Not when it’s done outside!

Its really hard to narrow things down on Huckberry. I was torn between the Sydney Hale candle company Cedarwood and Vanilla Candle/whiskey glass, Caperon and the haptic labs DC, boston or Sanfran quilts.
The Caperon is just awesome, My wife and I love to cook together. I have friends that moved Boston and San Fran respectively so they would be great gifts.
Ultimately, I think I’d be happiest with the Cedarwood and Vanilla candle. As a medical student, I spend most of my free time (out of the hospital) in my office studying. I usually have a candle burning because oddly enough it helps keep me focused in the nth hour, but honestly I can only find two scented candles that meet my standards for my otherwise manly office. I won’t go into details just know that the the smell of Cedar (or tobacco) would help keep the manly theme. (also the whiskey glass would come in handy after hours and hours and hours and hours of studying)….
The DC quilt would just be awesome.
Sydney and Hale – Cedar and Vanilla or the Tobacco candle/whiskey glass. The candle for studying, the glass for after.
