Thanks for the advice and inspiration Stephen! I'm an aspiring screenwriter myself. I just finished my first script (first one I'm not going to trash) and am working on a second. They keep getting better the more I practice and the more I write. I know I'm probably many revisions away from a finished product, but it keeps improving every time!

Very cool - I get a happy face anytime I see somebody grind out their way to success. There are so many overnight success stories out there, but what's usually not part of the story is that they worked their tail off for years before "preparation met opportunity" and they got their break.

Also, John Cleese said almost the exact same thing about unplugging your mind from a problem, and the solution will present itself - often times in a better format than what you had expected. Video here: http://www.fitnessgazette.net/2012/06/john-cleese-on-creating-boundaries.html

This is my favorite series you run on the site - keep 'em coming!

Great article. I've always had a question about writing partners, though: How much of a story do they have in place before they start? I mean, how can they trade off scenes if they're mid story? How much outlining or storyboarding goes into it before they sit down and start actually writing scenes?
