This place would be on my list of favorites even if it weren't close enough for me to walk to-which it is.Casual enough to bring the kids, but seriously great food that makes it worth going out. Great cocktails, beer, and wine. This guy knows what he's doing and what he's talking about, and I'm thrilled to see him getting a bump here. Many happy returns!

Enjoy these interviews, keep up the good work. I can relate to this job because i have this job. I own a little waffle diner, been doing it for over 2 years now, and the money is alright and we've made our investment back already. But been seriously thinking of closing it just because of the never ending daily problems/mishaps/complaints/headaches that you have to solve. Every problem & everyone's problem is your problem to take care of...

I have owned several business and had a cozy little cafe at one time. We served up breakfast, lunch and dinner. It was a dream I always had and although I hated it, I am glad I gave it a whirl. We were busy and doing well, but what a headache!! Customer complaints, having to be there 80 plus hours a week, staff headaches, supplly delays etc!! I remember one guy complained his eggs were too hard, so we we made him two more, then he said they were two soft. After literally frying up over a dozen eggs without a happy nod, I told him his meal was free. I moved on from owning the cafe and do not miss it. The new owners divorced over the headaches it gave them. I often think of opening a coffee / sandwich shop with a retro feel atmosphere but then I think of a someone complaining the coffee is too hot, too sweet, to strong or whatever and dismiss the idea!

There are a few "fools" in my family that have had their own restaurants, I joke that my cousin's hair fell out after he got his place going (coincidence?).

Deagan's right, college takes four years, running a joint like he's got takes more like twenty to get it right.

I notice that on Yelp his place has 145 reviews and 4/5 stars; his place & I am sure he is loved in the area.

Congrats to him and AoM, great interview, great site!
