Red Wing recently released a new boot as part of their awesome Heritage collection: the 4563. First developed for farmers, Red Wing introduced the 8-inch round toe work boot in 1919. The combination of two traditional styles, round toe boots provided the comfort of an oxford with the durability of a work boot. The round toe design made the boots more durable, as it was achieved by eliminating a seam by using one larger piece of leather instead of sewing together two smaller pieces.
Another great heritage feature of the 4563 is Red Wing’s signature Traction Tred sole, which was used on their first Irish Setter boots made in the 1950s. Farmers and upland game hunters loved the self-cleaning sole because it would keep the mud off their boots as they worked.
These boots go great with a pair of jeans, whether you’re at a worksite or out on the town. And best of all they’re Made in America, from leather crafted at a tannery in Minnesota.
The 4563 is available exclusively at Nordstroms, but Red Wing offered me a pair to give away to a lucky AoM reader as well.
