I am in the Royal Canadian Airforce and every year we have a beard growing contest starting after Remeberance day Nov 11th, and running until after New Years. I sacrificed almost 3 weeks of beard growing to participate in Movember, and could not be happier that I did! That being said, the moustache now has a full beard to keep it company!

That’s amazing!

Two good tips for fundraising from my team this year:

1) Send thank-you pictures to donors. One team member did this by drawing hilarious moustaches on paper with a thank-you note and photographing his face with the illustrated lip ferret underneath.

2) Pledge to keep it longer for a last minute pump. On November 3th I woke up with $400 in donations. I hit Facebook and announced that I would be keeping the ‘stache until New Years Eve if I hit $500. By 2pm I topped out at $545.

To add an extra special dose of humiliating thank-you to my wonderful friends and family I will be dyeing my handlebar ‘mo red and dressing as Yosemite Sam before I cut this thing off.
