As a fireman having polished boots at work is a must. I remember when I first got into the fire service the chief came over to the station and one of my shift mates did not have shiny enough shoes and chief made him sine him in front of him until he was satisfied. From then on my black boots were shiny enough to shave off of every shift. Kiwi Parade Gloss black is the best polish I have used.

I just put on two base coats and thought 'Wait am I even eligable?'. I had to be Canadian. Anyway, I'm still gonna polish them in the spirit of maniless, but I wish I could enter the contest.

I hope you dont get any old-school Marines in this competition. There was a time when every Marine was issued two pairs of black leather boots and one pair of black leather dress shoes. The boots were Jungle and Cold Weather ("Cadillac's": they were all leather, so when you had them on, you were "cruising in style"). Every Marine was expected to spit shine their boots every day and it was a source of pride for many a Marine who could literally shave their face in the shine of their boots. I know for a fact my dress shoes I had for 15 years before the leather finally gave out. Alas, with our new boots, we no longer have a need to shine. The tricks we used to get our boots shined up nice were many, and the actual process took quite some time. Looking back on it all, that daily shine of the boots was mildly theraputic and something I actually miss.

What a bugger that I'm from Germany.... I would love to get a decent pair of shoes. I have good suits but good fitting shoes are a pain to get by. Good luck to everyone who is able to enter the contest!

I am an avid Troentorp Bastad leather clog fan and use Kiwi products on all my clogs. I use their products not only to polish, but to re-dye the black soles after discoloration due to ice/salt/etc. in my cold climate. I own a couple of the different Kiwi products. Another product I love is Norviegan leather treatment which I use to protect my leather at the beginning. They are a small company located in Minnesota I believe and the quality of their products is great!
