I second the Alan Turing addition. Barely any of these men (apart from Niels Bhor) could be said to hold much in the way of intellect relative to the likes of Turing. I mean, since when was being a business-man or a chess enthusiast an "intellectual" pursuit? Turing is the father of the computer as we know it - and also a runner capable of performing world-class distances. You couldn't find a better example than this guy! This guy is the computer-nerd come marathon runner!

So true! I am in high school, and one of my best friends was on the wrestling, crosscountry, and football teams, was sophmore Althete of the Year and received the junior Sports Performance award. Also, he got 99% in Chemistry AP, a 5 on his AP exam, and was accepted to a prestigious research program.

Once, I overheard a guy commenting on my friend's impressive muscles, saying, "All that guy does is work out and study." NOT true. Besides work out and study, my friend does one other thing quite frequently - date! No coincidence there ;)

Hmmmm. What about Albert Camus? Besides being one of the most important philosophers ever, as well as a hero of the Resistence against the nazis, he played football (what you american guys call "soccer") as a goalkeeper for many years, and stated in more than one occasion that most of what he knew about men, he had learnt playing football.
