I’m a man! I’ll fish in my skivvies if I damn well please.
If you’re like a lot of men, you’ve probably been wearing the same 5 sets of undergarments for the past 6 years. And they’re probably nasty looking. Your undershirts have layers of yellow sweat and deodorant stains in the pits, your underwear has holes, and your socks are threadbare.
Why do men let their underwear get like this? Well, in the long list of things that press on a man’s mind every day, their underwear’s condition probably doesn’t even crack the top 100. Nobody thinks about running to the store to buy some new undies. And it’s understandable. Most people won’t see your underclothes, so out of sight, out of mind.
If only there was a service that would mail you new underwear throughout the year so you don’t have to remember to buy a new set ever again.
Guess what? A service like that exists. It’s called Manpacks.
Manpacks is a subscription service that sends you a new set of socks, underwear, and undershirts every three months. You pick the plan and the style of underclothing you want and Manpacks will take care of the rest. For as little as $4 a month, you can receive a completely new set of undergarments at just the right time to replenish your supply. You’ll never have to make a run to the store to buy new undergarments again. For today’s busy man, it’s nice to have one less thing to worry about.
The Manpacks Giveaway
We’re giving away a one year Manpack subscription to one lucky Art of Manliness reader. They’ll receive 2 pairs of underwear, 2 shirts, and 2 pairs of socks every 3 months for the next year. No strings attached-it’s not one of those subscriptions that sneakily automatically renews itself. Just a whole year of new underwear delivered to your door. To enter, simply leave a comment on this post answering the age old question: boxers or briefs?
Deadline to enter is Monday, June 28, 2010 at 11PM CST.
We’ll select one random entry as the winner.
Everyone who enters the contest will receive a code for a $10 discount on any Manpacks package. So enter already! You only have $10 and fresh undies to gain!

Boxer-briefs. Good combo, imo
I actually prefer boxer-briefs. Good combination of comfort and support. But between boxers and briefs, I’d choose boxers.
boxer briefs!
Boxers, the button hole makes for easier access to pissing where ever I damn well please.
Boxer Briefs, but of the two I’d choose just plain old boxers.
Boxers, def.
Boxers
I’m a bigger guy on the go, briefs would allow my legs to chafe and boxers don’t work because i have to keep the rig in between in check. Boxer-briefs
Boxer-briefs mostly, but with the occasional boxer.
i’m a sport loving man so briefs used to seem better but then they would always ride up after running so i switched to boxers which didn’t provide enough support! Boxer-Briefs were the only logical choice at that point and i am happy with them.
Boxer-briefs for me, but I’d prefer boxers over briefs any day.
Boxer briefs
The best of both worlds…… BOXER BRIEFS!
Fruit of the loom boxer briefs all day everyday!
Boxers!
Boxers of course
Briefs
Boxer-briefs are the way to go. You get the best of both worlds. And I must say what a great service this company is offering.
Boxers
boxer-briefs!
I enjoy boxer briefs the best because the have the most comfortable fit. Between boxers and briefs I’d have to go briefs though
Whichever I happen to grab first, usually briefs.
Briefs
boxer-briefs. the comfort of briefs with the length of boxers. cant beat it.
Boxers definitely.
Boxers. By all means.
Boxers, but if all underwears were an option I’d say boxer briefs.
boxer briefs, or boxers.
Boxers, all the way.
Boxers
Boxer Briefs… does that count?
Boxers for sure.
I’m a boxer brief person, but given your choices i’m a brief man.
i like the better support of a tighter undergarment. if i was gonna wear boxers i feel like i might as well go commando.
What an awesome idea! Win or lose…. I’m signing up!
Mike
Boxers to Boxer-briefs… haven’t worn the tighties since I was 5
Boxers are the way to go!
I prefer boxer-briefs, but I’d go with briefs if it came down to boxers or briefs.
Both briefs and boxers.
Briefs for daily wear, boxers when I’ve got a hot date. ;-)
Boxers!!
Briefs.
Boxer-briefs, so briefs with some extra leg i guess?
Boxer-briefs, best of both worlds.
Can I say boxer-briefs? Does that still qualify?
Boxers!
Without question boxer-briefs…sport trunk variety, if you want to get specific.
Briefs…until someone got smart and introduced the on-the-fence option. Boxer-briefs give you the best of both worlds.
Boxers man!!!
Boxers
Boxers
Both – depends on what I’m doing that day.
BoxerBriefs!
Boxers. (But only because there was no option for the manly loin cloth!).
Boxer-briefs are the only way to go.
Myes boxers
Split the difference, boxer briefs!
Why, boxers, of course!
My personal development in the boxer-brief dilemma.
As a child, I was raised in briefs.
Once I hit high school (and football practice), it became clear that boxers were what everyone wore. Nobody wore ‘tightie-whities’.
I stayed with boxers throughout college, but after graduation, started working in more briefs for my workouts, as boxers would tend to bunch, increase heat and friction, and, on multiple occasions, rip during full range of motion squats (needless to say, the only type worth doing).
Living in Phoenix, I often find briefs to be more comfortable in the summer heat than boxers, so they have been creeping into my everyday wear.
I now choose between the two based on temperature and activity. For sport, the summer, and the gym, briefs. Otherwise, boxers.
I’ve tried boxer briefs, but, in my experience, they are the worst of both worlds- a true compromise. The bottom of the boxer slides up during activity and gets stuck there, creating a true traffic jam of fabric that never slides back down (without unseemly manual adjustment).
Commando.
Boxers.
Boxers in a heartbeat
Boxer Briefs. They are supportive in all the right places
Boxers
Boxers
Boxer-briefs on most occasions, and sometimes boxers.
P.S – There are currently 1550(1551 including mine) comments here, if you win go buy yourself a lottery ticket.
Boxers anyday. Especially considering that I am a server and i move aroung
all the time, I need something thats very comfortable, and the boxers just does it for me
Boxers anyda! Especially because I’m a server and I move around all the time. Therefore i need underwear thats very comfrotable and supportive, and boxers just does it for me
Boxers, unless I’m working out, then boxer-briefs.
Boxer briefs!
Boxers, as they have the manly distinction of being what a pugilist would wear.
Boxers
Boxers!
boxers
Boxers allllllll the way! Comfort and ventilation is a winning combination!
Briefs… my boys need stability.
Boxer briefs…the boys need the support.
Boxers!
Boxers!
Briefs, they are all I have ever worn. I tried boxers once, but could not get used to the feeling.
Briefs!
Wow, looks like Boxers is the overwhelming winner? Have tried boxer briefs before, but they just feel so *weird*. Boxers are pretty much just shorts as far as I’m concerned, don’t understand how people can wear them as underwear. My favourite is a Jockey athletic brief: relatively expensive, but feels great, doesn’t creep, and lasts forever (as in no sign of wear or over-stretch after over a year).
boxers!
Boxers. Much more comfortable.
Boxers
Between the two, Boxers but personal preference is boxer-briefs.
Boxer-briefs!
Boxer-briefs!
Boxers
Boxers. Or Boxerbriefs.
Used to go with boxers, now I only go with boxer briefs. Best of both worlds!
briefs
I like boxer briefs, actually…snug like briefs, but don’t chafe around the privates like briefs sometimes can
Boxers
Boxers!
Boxers normally, and boxer-briefs for sports or suits.
Boxers!
fitted boxers
Boxer briefs
Boxers.
Yes – briefs during the day and boxers at night
I grew up wearing tighty-whities, made the switch to boxer-briefs when they first came out (middle/high school), then to boxers for high school and college. The preference now is boxer-briefs or boxers, depending on the occasion. The wife wants me to wear boxers more, but that’s just for better luck at having kids. I could switch back and forth at any time, but will probably stay rooted in the boxer-briefs or “trunks” camp.
