Hey AoM, Thanks for all of the great suggestions. I ended up with a safety razor set (including badger brush and shaving soap) and a 2 handed axe for chopping firewood.

(My sons got camping gear, and wilderness survival books…all in all a very manly CHRISTmas at our house!)

After reading the site a few months back, I was inspired to ask for a safety razor shaving set. Lets hope Santa got the memo.

Also, re: the soda, Moxie is fantastic! I live in Maine a couple minutes from where it was invented, I’ll have to see if I can find the real sugar version tho. Thanks for the links and ideas.

If you have an air museum in your area, and you love old warbirds, find out if they offer rides. While it’s not a gift that would keep on giving, like gun training or the like, it would be a once in a lifetime experience.

For example, the Yankee Air Museum, near Detroit Michigan, offers 30 minute flights on either their B-25D Mitchell bomber, Yankee Warrior; or on the B-17G Yankee Lady. Flights cost $400 and $425, respectively.
