Mountain and Sackett Tie Giveaway: November 2009

Last May we did a tie giveaway with the Mountain and Sackett tie company, which has been making handmade neckware right here in America since 1957. The giveaway was a big hit with readers, so we decided to bring it back again. And with the holidays coming up, we wanted to help you look sharp for the seasonal parties you’ll be attending.

What’s Up For Grabs

The winner of the giveaway will get to choose any one of Mountain and Sackett’s ties as their prize. Need a narrow tie in your collection? How about a solid wool tie? And of course don’t forget the ties that Mountain and Sackett is famous for-their regimentals. Mountain and Sackett ‘s regimental ties are the world’s only 100% handmade ties. No machine touches these beauties. Cruise through Mountain and Sackett’s collection and pick the one you’d like to be wearing around your neck when you kiss your gal under the mistletoe.

How to Enter

Entering is easy. Just follow these two simple steps:

1. Visit the Mountain and Sackett website and pick out the style and color you would like for your tie if you’re lucky enough to be selected as the winner.

2. Share your selection with us in the comments section. You don’t have to post the link-just a description. (Posting the link may cause your comment to be filtered as spam).

Everyone who enters the contest will be emailed a code for a 20% discount on Mountain and Sackett ties at the conclusion of the contest.

A winner will be drawn randomly from the entries. The deadline for entry into the contest is Sunday, November 22 at 11PM EST.

It can be dressy or casual and you can even get away with it worn with your old Harris Tweed sports coat and a pair of jeans. With all of the awful looking novelty ties you see everyday its a relief to see a gentleman in a tie that has some heritage.

It narrowly edged out Occasionals Hockey, RGB, NWR, and East & West Yorkshire.

Also, I have to say, $70 is a surprisingly reasonable price for a 100% handmade tie. I might have to buy one of these at some point anyway. But here’s to hoping I don’t have to! :)

Though I didn’t win I bought the Old Albanians Regimental tie. What a beautiful and well-made tie. This is quality craftsmanship in fabric.
