Wile I’ll agree that Comfort Eagle is a good album, there’s not getting around Fashion Nugget or Prolonging the Magic for classic era Cake. Seems like in the span between Prolonging… and Comfort Eagle they traded some of their raw appeal for slick production. However the title track off Comfort Eagle is as good as anything they’ve done before or since. That’s just me though and I like bands at their most eager; before they’re too popular and compromise their integrity. :)

I guess you could say that they’re never there! :)

Their show is definitely worth at least a moderate drive. As you can tell from Cake’s lyrics the lead singer is really smart and witty and he really puts on an entertaining show. We really enjoyed ourselves.

I agree, Comfort Eagle is Cake’s best album. I hope I get a chance to see them live someday. They never come to my area, though! Maybe one of these days I should make a week of it and go wherever they are.
