Business casual be damned. Love for the tie is alive and well, as evidenced by the 619 entries to our Mountain and Sackett Authentic Regimental Tie Giveaway. 619 entries is quite a lot, but when it comes to the odds of winning, 1 out of 619, sure beats a lottery ticket.

And who was the lucky 1? Why it’s Paul Hodgeson of Corona, California. Paul selected a manly design that was popular with many of you: Old Albanians.

For those of you who are now wiping away your tears of defeat with a Tabasco necktie from Sears, take heart! Mountain and Sackett is offering a generous 20% discount on any of their fine ties. Wearing the world’s only 100% handmade regimental tie will surely put a little bounce in your step when you head off to work. So treat yourself and join the regiment of manliness. We’ll be emailing all of the entrants to the contest with a code to put in when you check out.

Congratulations, Paul! That’s a nice tie.

I do wish Brett hadn’t sent the rest of us an e-mail that was directly addressed to so many of us at once – 295 people now have my e-mail sans permission. I also have 295 people’s e-mails, if any telemarketers want to buy them!

Joking on the last part, but hopefully next time you can send the e-mail to yourself and use Bcc, at least. Not that I don’t trust AoM readers, but it’s always nice to know where my e-mail goes. Next time, aye?

Doh! I profoundly, profoundly apologize for that oversight. Truly. I’ve never done that before and never plan on doing it again. I just slipped up. Very sorry everyone.

I still haven’t received the code for the discount. Is it still on the way?
